NEMA Chicago South Loop apartments is located at 1210 S. Indiana Avenue in a 76-story, 896-foot tower completed in 2019. The building contains 800 apartment units and 622 parking spaces. It is recorded as the tallest all-rental residential building in Chicago and the tenth-tallest building in the city overall.

Design

The tower was designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, with interior spaces designed by David Rockwell. The building is developed and managed by Crescent Heights. Structurally, the tower uses a bundled-tube configuration of nine interlocked steel tubes with concrete perimeter walls, a wind-resistance method also used in the Willis Tower.

Amenities

The building includes more than 70,000 square feet of amenity space: an outdoor deck overlooking Grant Park, co-working space, a fitness center with spa facilities, an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, a golf simulator, a game room, and a private dining room.

Recognition and Certification

NEMA received the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s Award of Excellence and its Best Tall Building Americas Audience Award in 2021. The building holds LEED Silver certification.

NEMA is located in the Central Station area of the Near South Side, adjacent to Grant Park and within walking distance of the Museum Campus, Soldier Field, and the Loop.
